But. Yeah, I know, BUT… one more “like” or one more Tweet or one more email or one more silk camisole from Ann Taylor or Nordstrom, or a Jizo for a loved one who is going through a rough time.
The more we know about the brain, the more we know about the process of addiction. And electronics are addicting. Necessary, like food and money but, like their cousins, you can have too much of them.
So, as you finish reading this, try something: turn off the computer. Close all those windows and open the other kind. Take off your shoes. Go outside and feel the earth. If someone you know and care about is close by, maybe smile or give them a hug. Wake up to the moment at hand, not some digital moment.
