Sometimes there are surprises when I choose stillness. I opted out of Memorial Day traffic this morning and was on posting in my jizoandchibi Facebook sangha, when a box appeared from my friend Christina Parker, adding me to a group. I always opt out of groups immediately. Too distracting. This one, however, cried out for action.
It was for charity – for the injured and abandoned animals of the Moore tornado. I knew immediately that I must donate and then spread the word. I hope you will click here.…to help.
Even if you avoid the news (like I often do) you know how much help Moore, OK needs right now. The Facebook site is just beginning to grow. One hundred members so far. (By the time I finished writing this, there were over 1,000 members!) Please consider joining and/or forwarding this to others who might help either by donating something to the auction or bidding on what is offered.
I hope you feel moved to do something. I donated Jizos to the auction, priced low but I hope they bring a bunch of money. In fact, I am going to donate more of them once I send this out to you.
Lastly, I am sending you warm wishes for this Memorial Weekend, for whomever you may be grieving; whether they died in the military, or at any time, anywhere, for any reason. For me, Memorial Day is a day for grief and resolution and kindness both for all sentient beings.
PS: The Middle Way Jizo is one of the pieces donated to help the Moore Animals. Just click on the link, the bidding starts at $25…with free shipping. Visit the Facebook Auction for the Animals of the Moore Tornado
